Situation vacant - Hurricanes and Wellington Rugby CEO

Wellington Rugby is currently seeking applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

This role is responsible for providing leadership and vision to the game in Wellington at all levels, maintaining a framework for players to develop from club rugby at U6 level, through and beyond the point when they represent the All Blacks. This Wellington Rugby CEO also currently has responsibility for managing the Hurricanes franchise and the NZI Sevens.

Candidates should ideally be able to demonstrate:

• Strong business acumen
• Proven ability to negotiate major commercial deals
• Empathy for the game of rugby at all levels
• Working understanding of the business of professional sport

Reporting to both the Wellington Rugby and Hurricanes Boards, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and grow a forward-thinking organisation built on a powerful tradition and heritage.
